Writing Update!

6.7.2023

Hello, everyone! The new writing project, which I’m calling the Lucky MacIntyre series for now, is coming along great! The first short story/prologue story is finished, and I’m perhaps 1/3 finished with the first draft of the second story. I’ve got over 10,000 words on this project so far, and I’m really pleased with how it’s going.

As with The Murderwarden (which is out now in both eBook and paperback on Amazon!), the magic is what I would call ‘fantasy-lite’–it’s there, it’s present, but while Murderwarden is more murder mystery/police thriller with a side of magic, the Lucky series is mostly Western, with the magic present but not overwhelming.

I’ve loved Westerns for a long, long time, ever since my mother gave me Louis L’Amour’s Trouble Shooter to read when I was twelve, and I’m so excited that writing my first one is going so well so far.

I went on a trip with my husband to Milan, Italy last week for a dear friend’s wedding, and we got to do a little sightseeing while we were there. I think my favorite (aside from the wedding, which was fabulous!) was the Duomo di Milano. The stained glass and the architecture took my breath away.

I kept up with my wordcount goal, even though I didn’t write quite every day. Can you blame me, though? Milan was amazing, and I can hardly wait to go back!
