I had a lot of time to read while traveling to and from Italy this past week.
First up was finishing Robin Hobb’s Assassin’s Apprentice. I’ve been reading fantasy for years, but this is the first time I’ve picked up anything from this author. I really enjoyed it! It felt different enough from all the other fantasy I’ve read while still feeling classic. I thought the worldbuilding was neat, especially the naming system she put in place for the royals. Fitz, the main character, is likeable, too, and I found myself rooting for him quickly. The one downer I found throughout the book is that Fitz’ pets don’t seem to fare very well, and that made me sad.
4/5, looking forward to the rest of the series!
